Incidents

The pie chart below shows the range of incidents that the air ambulance attends. By far and away the greatest proportion is road traffic accidents, but sport and horse riding account for a significant number of accidents.

Reasons for Deployment

The next chart shows the main reasons for deploying the helicopter as opposed to a ground ambulance. Clinical urgency is by far and away the most significant reason. In other words time is of the essence.
